A procedure has been developed in previous papers for constructing exact solutions of the equations of linear elasticity in a thick plate of inhomogeneous isotropic linearly elastic material in which the elastic moduli depend in any specified manner on a coordinate normal to the plane of the plate. The essential idea is that any solution of the classical thin plate or classical laminate theory equations (which are two-dimensional theories) generates, by straightforward substitutions, a solution of the three-dimensional elasticity equations for the homogeneous material. Recently this theory has been formulated in terms of functions of a complex variable. It was shown that the displacement and stress fields in the inhomogeneous material could be expressed in terms of four complex potentials that are analytic functions of the complex variable ζ = x + iy in the mid-plane of the plate. However, the analysis performed so far applies only to the case of a plate with traction-free upper and lower faces. The present paper extends these solutions to the case where the plate is bent by a pressure distribution applied to a face. 相似文献

Newton equations are dynamical systems on the space of fields. The solutions of a given equation which are curves of characteristic fields for its force are planar and have constant angular momentum. Separable solutions are characteristic with angular momentum equal to zero. A Newton equation is separable if and only if its characteristic equation is homogeneous. Separable equations correspond to invariants of homogeneous ordinary differential equations, and those associated with a given homogenous equation correspond to its generalized dilation symmetries. A Newton equation is compatible with the characteristic condition if and only if its characteristic equation is linear. Such equations correspond to invariants of linear ordinary differential equations. Those associated with a given linear equation correspond to the central force problems on its solution space. A nonlinear Galerkin/ Petrov- least squares mixed element (NGPLSME) method for the stationary Navier-Stokes equations is presented and analyzed. The scheme is that Petrov-least squares forms of residuals are added to the nonlinear Galerkin mixed element method so that it is stable for any combination of discrete velocity and pressure spaces without requiring the Babuska-Brezzi stability condition. The existence, uniqueness and convergence ( at optimal rate ) of the NGPLSME solution is proved in the case of sufficient viscosity ( or small data). 相似文献

In the problem of motion of the Kowalevski top in a double force field the four-dimensional invariant submanifold of the phase space was pointed out by [Kharlamov, M.P., 2002. Mekh. Tverd. Tela 32, 33–38]. We show that the equations of motion on this manifold can be separated by the appropriate change of variables, the new variables s1, s2 being elliptic functions of time. The natural phase variables (components of the angular velocity and the direction vectors of the forces with respect to the movable basis) are expressed via s1, s2 explicitly in elementary algebraic functions. 相似文献

It is known that there is wide, and at present, unbridgeable, gap between discrete and continuum granular mechanics. In this contribution, first, microscopic kinematic variables neglected in classical continuum granular mechanics are investigated based on the kinematics of discs in contact. Then, a kinematic variable called the averaged pure rotation rate (APR) is proposed for an assembly of circular discs of different sizes, which is then used to produce another two kinematic tensors with one equal to the deformation rate tensor and the other unifying the spin tensor and the APR. As an example, the kinematic variables are incorporated into the unified double-slip plasticity model. Finally, these theoretical analyses are verified using a two-dimensional discrete element method. The study shows that these kinematic variables can be used to bridge discrete and continuum granular mechanics. 相似文献
